It is hardly bedtime reading, but is packed with 591 pages of statutes and statutory instruments. The latest edition includes the relevant parts of the Children Act 2004, the rules of the General Social Care Council and much more.

An essential reference for anyone who works within the framework of the Care Standards Act 2000, it would be most useful to legal

advisers, tribunal members, care service providers and regulators, but also to social services departments and related agencies.

The book will no doubt be updated again next year, but this edition is a vital resource.
