New investment for homes and community projects

Scottish Homes will invest £215 million in Scotland’s
housing this year with an emphasis on community projects and Social
Inclusion Partnership (SIP) areas. The funding will help build over
5,000 new homes for rent.

Around £47 million will be invested in community projects
allowing more people with disabilities or older people to live
independently. A further £90 million will go to SIPs, which
are areas designated by the government as being in need of
additional investment in housing, health and employment
opportunities.
