Fathers poorly supported by service providers

Contrary to public stereotypes, fathers in areas of multiple
deprivation are strongly committed to the care of their children,
although they feel poorly supported by service providers, according
to a ground breaking study by the Family Service Unit in Pilton,
Edinburgh.

The report, Dad’s the Word, is to be published next Monday
and launched by Malcolm Chisholm, deputy minister for community
care.
