Lack of treatment facilities exposed

Nearly everyone who responded to the
Community Care online poll said there were not adequate
facilities for the treatment of young sex offenders in their
area.

A record 98 per cent of visitors said services
were inadequate, with only 2 per cent saying they were able to
access sufficient facilities.

A part 8 review into the killing of an
11-year-old boy by a teenager, Dominic McKilligan, found a shortage
of places for treatment of young paedophiles.

This week’s question asks: Should the
government amend the Adoption and Children Bill so adopted people
retain the right to access their birth records?

The bill as it is drafted does not allow
adopted people the right to access their birth records if one of
their birth parents objects.
