New Deal must help youth with problems

Four out of five visitors to Community Care’s
website believe the New Deal for young people needs to be more
focused on people with particular problems.

Sir John Bourn, head of the National Audit
Office, recommended that the scheme should concentrate on helping
people with mental health problems, or alcohol or drug
addictions.

This week’s question asks: ‘Would you
like more flexibility to reward individual performance in your
place of work?’

Prime Minister Tony Blair has called on public
sector workers to accept more flexibility in their working
conditions.
