Children’s hospice to receive £1 million

Plans
to develop a second children’s hospice in Scotland are to be boosted by £1
million of funding by the Scottish executive.

The
Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) already runs Rachel House,
Scotland’s only children’s hospice, and are planning a new facility to be built
at Balloch on the banks of Loch Lomond.
The executive will provide £500,000 towards the building costs of the new
facility and £250,000 per annum running cots for the first two years.
