Consultation on rights in Scotland

The Scottish executive has launched a
nationwide consultation on proposals designed to improve homeless
people’s rights and offer them more support.

The
executive is consulting on the 59 proposals of the homelessness
task force published in February 2002. The main recommendations,
which the executive have accepted, are the redefining of the term
“intentional homelessness”, and an equal right for assistance for
every homeless person. A homelessness bill will be published later
this year.
