Scots staff help deal with flood problems

Glasgow social workers sprung into action this week when the
city experienced its worst flash floods in 50 years.

Staff opened area offices to offer advice and consultation to
residents, many of whom had been evacuated from their homes.

Meanwhile, the city’s East Balornock Youth Centre, which runs
respite and holiday play schemes for disabled children, has been
forced to close as a result of the floods. Arrangements are being
made for a reduced service for users.
