Casey to head new anti-social behaviour unit

Louise Casey has been appointed by the government to head up a
new anti-social behaviour unit.

Casey, who is currently director of the government’s
homelessness directorate, will take up her new post within the home
office in the new year.

An Anti-social Behaviour Bill was included in the Queen’s
Speech and will be published next year.

The bill will include new measures to evict anti-social tenants,
extended fixed penalties and enhanced anti-social behaviour
orders.

Casey said: “It (anti-social behaviour) blights lives,
communities and businesses. It is no longer acceptable that the
actions of the few mean many live in fear.”
