Bid to beat mental health stigma

Embedding Connexions personal advisers in the mental health
system could improve services for young people.

This is one of several measures put forward by Connexions in the
wake of a review of mental health provision for young people.
Others include linking personal advisers to both statutory and
voluntary agencies at a primary care level and for advisers to work
directly with young people to reduce stigmatisation.

The proposals are put forward in a booklet that focuses on a
pilot project being run in the Humber region.
