People who stand up to their noisy neighbours will receive a
financial award under a government scheme.
The “Taking a Stand” awards will reward those who are prepared to
tackle the behaviour of thugs, vandals and “neighbours from hell”
in their communities. Up to 30 £1,000 awards will be made in
England and Wales, with the overall winner receiving £5,000.
The money has to be spent on initiatives to tackle antisocial
behaviour.
The awards have been developed by the Home Office in partnership
with the Co-op Group, National Neighbourhood Watch Association and
Crime Concern.
The winners will be announced in November.
