Local government workers across London are to stage a one-day all
out strike next month over London weighting payments after the
national industrial action committee of public sector union Unison
backed the plan.
The strike is part of a two-year campaign by
staff across the 32 London boroughs to secure a flat London
weighting of £4,000. Currently, the allowance ranges between
£1,500 and £2,850.
The strike will be held on 16 October on the
same day that talks will be held with employers.
