Youth workers’ union backs offer

The Community and Youth Workers Union has encouraged its members to
accept the latest offer agreed by the Joint Negotiating Committee
for Youth and Community Workers.

The employers have offered a 2.7 per cent pay rise for six months
from last September, rising to 3.3 per cent from March this year
for six months.

The package also includes plans to tackle recruitment and retention
with an enhanced salary structure and new job profiles.

The Community and Youth Workers Union has urged its members to
accept the employers’ offer as “the best possible package that can
be negotiated without further industrial or strike action”.
