Directors question the value of trusts

One third of directors and senior managers in social services and
education think children’s trusts will have no impact on children
and young people who only receive universal services, according to
research.

One in 10 go further still and predict that the trusts will have a
negative impact on this group.

The survey by RSe Consulting and Community Care finds that
90 per cent of the 121 directors and senior managers asked believe
that children and family services had moved up their chief
executive’s agenda in the previous 12 months. Four out of five
believe the Children Bill and accompanying policies are
“fundamentally sound”.
