Lisa Arthurworrey has lost her claim for unfair dismissal against
Haringey Council, writes Amy
Taylor.

The employment tribunal also rejected Victoria Climbie’s
social worker’s claim that she had been made a scapegoat by
the local authority.

The tribunal chair, Thomas Ryan, said that whatever sympathy the
tribunal may have for Arthurworrey, she had not been unfairly
dismissed.

He added that a scapegoat was somebody who had been made to
carry the blame and that Haringey Council had not just put this on
Arthurworrey.

Arthurworrey was sacked for gross misconduct in November
2002.

She fled the tribunal half way through when it became clear that
she had lost her fight.
