CHILDREN LIVING WITH DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Star Rating: 3/5

The impact of domestic violence on children is the subject of
this book but it is packed with information for all professionals
who work with people in potentially violent relationships, The
first chapter is a comprehensive overview and the book successfully
integrates theories on possible causes of domestic violence,
research findings and the legal, ethical and procedural frameworks
with detailed practice guidance.

Busy practitioners will welcome the practical assessment
checklist and bullet point practice guidance. But its condensed
style leaves little space for reflection and partial reading may
diminish understanding of some important messages regarding a
consistent and principled multi-agency approach to domestic
violence and professional intervention.

Lynn Baxter is senior lecturer, Greenwich
University.
