Council inquiry into murdered girl’s care

Camden social services are carrying out a serious case review into
the death of a six-year-old girl who was on its child protection
register.

Police have launched a murder inquiry after Ukleigha
Batten-Froggatt and her mother, Nicole Batten, were found dead at
their home last week.

Police forced their way into their flat following concerns that
Ukleigha had not been to school since late February. They
discovered her body and her mother’s. Post-mortems revealed Batten
had died from a single stab wound and Ukleigha had been strangled.
Police have since arrested Batten’s partner on suspicion of their
murder.
