Schools partnership plan to share data

Schools are to develop partnerships to share information and
co-ordinate their provision for vulnerable children.

Known as education improvement partnerships, they will be set up in
England to encourage collaboration between schools and shift
responsibilities away from councils.

The partnerships, the brainchild of the Department for Education
and Skills, are expected to be running in every education area by
2007.

Funding for behaviour support will be devolved to them and they
will be responsible for commissioning school support services,
including counsellors and social workers.
