Narey becomes Barnardo’s boss

Martin Narey, the chief executive of the National Offender
Management Service, is to become the chief executive of
children’s charity Barnardo’s it was announced
today.

Narey will succeed Roger Singleton who retires at the end of the
year.

Narey has been widely praised for his commitment to improving
the way prisoners are treated. He has also been praised for his
ability to motivate prison staff and his strong leadership
skills.

Before his current job Narey was director general of the prison
service.
