If you ask me…

Who has had the biggest influence on you?
Myself – I’ve had to do it all on my own.

Which health or social care professional has been most use
to you?

The doctors and nurses at Laurie Grove Medical Centre in New Cross,
south London.

If you ran care services in your area what would you do
differently?
I’d offer more support to people with learning
difficulties and listen to them.

Has any government policy ever
benefited you personally?
No. The government has failed to provide enough support
for people who have been abused or for parents who don’t know how
to show their children love.

If you could ban one thing what would it be?
I wish that beating children at school and home had been
banned when I was a child.

What animal would you like to be?
I’d be a fly so I could sit on the food of my enemies or a
wasp so I could sting them or a piranha so I could eat them.

If you won the lottery how would you spend it?
Give some to Respond, to my day centre, to Lewisham
Hospital and to a donkey sanctuary.

Who would you like to swap places with?
Tony Blair as I’d be a much stronger leader. I’d bring
back National Service and boot camp. There’d be no 24-hour drinking
– I’d make pubs shut at 10pm.

What is the most important lesson you have
learned?

Don’t hide yourself away.
