STAR RATING: 3/5

Run by:   The National Children’s Bureau

Who is it for? Young NCB is a free membership network for children under 13

Highlight: This site provides lots of opportunities for you to say how you feel about issues such as bullying, sex education, smacking and school dinners, and it is interesting to read what other people have said. There is also a free magazine, Loudspeaker, which you can download.

It is bright, colourful and easy to navigate. However there isn’t really enough to appeal to most under-13s.

If they added competitions or games it would be a much better site.

Also some of the sections did not contain much information. The What’s On section only had one event and the voting section didn’t work.

I think this site would appeal more to older children or people who work with children than to the younger age group.
