Determined, optimistic, change-maker

If you were stuck on a desert island, and could take one person and one object, who and what would they be?
Denise, my wife; a music player we could both listen to with lots stored on it.

Who inspires you and why?
Nigel Whiskin, former chief executive of Crime Concern and a former boss of mine; he showed me that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Martin Allen, manager of Brentford FC, who shows what positive mental attitude can do with limited resources.

What is your favourite place in the world?
Hammersmith & Fulham, closely followed by New York city and the west coast of Ireland

If you were on death row what would your last meal be?
Anything from River Café

Which celebrity would you want to play the role of you in a film about your life?
Dustin Hoffman – he’s about the right size/shape!

What was the last CD you bought?
There were several – I’m a bit of a CD/vinyl junkie – including Arctic Monkeys, Cat Power and Johnny Cash.

What is your favourite film of all time?
A River Runs Through It

What is the best present you have ever been given?
True love by my wife. And for the materialists, a digital camera when I left my last job.

If you could do any job in the world, what would it be?
I’m very lucky where I am at Counsel and Care – getting the best care and support for older people.
