A social worker who allegedly advertised herself as an escort was due this week to become the first person to face the General Social Care Council’s conduct committee.
Yvonne Marie Doyle, who was not employed as a social worker at the time of the alleged incident around a year ago, was called to a hearing in Newcastle which was due to start yesterday (Wednesday), after Community Care went to press.
It is alleged that Doyle, from Darlington, breached the GSCC’s code of practice for social care staff.
If it decides to take action the committee could remove Doyle’s name from the register, issue a caution or suspend her.
