Domestic Violence: Special Report

Welcome to the first of an occasional series where we present a more in-depth look at best practice in one particular field or theme – starting with domestic violence. Other planned subjects include using the arts in social care, and looking at best practice in dual diagnosis. One in four women and one in six men will experience violence in their lifetime from a partner or ex-partner. Domestic violence accounts for 16 per cent of all violent crime and has the highest rate of repeat victimisation of any crime. It also kills two women every week.
