The Home Office has failed to publish the latest statistics on breaches of antisocial behaviour orders despite receiving a Freedom of Information Act request three months ago.
Campaign group Asbo Concern submitted the request in April asking for the breach rate for Asbos for 2004, after the Home Office published its annual Asbo statistics without breach figures.
In a letter to Asbo Concern dated 10 May, the Home Office said it would produce the breach figures for 2004 within the “next two months”. But Asbo Concern said this week the information had not been issued.
The most recent Asbo breach figures, published last year, showed that 42 per cent were breached from June 2000 to
December 2003. Asbo Concern predicts that the number of breaches is likely to have risen.
A Home Office spokesperson this week said there was “no date” for the publication of the breach statistics.
