August People Moves

LIZ FELTON is to join mental health charity Together as chief executive. She replaces Gil Hitchon, who is retiring in October after 23 years with the organisation.  Felton is currently deputy chief executive at Rethink, also a mental health charity.

 

Stockport Council has appointed ANNE BIRCH as assistant director, inclusive communities, in the children’s and young people’s directorate. She is currently head of social inclusion at Derbyshire Council.

At Stockport, Birch will be responsible for education provision for vulnerable groups; young people’s services – including Connexions, education welfare and youth services; adult and continuing education; and the youth offending team.

 

RAM GIDOOMAL is new chair and trustee at the Refugee Council. He arrived in the UK as a teenage refugee from East Africa and became an extremely successful businessman. He is currently chair of the Employability Forum, a charity focusing on refugee employment.
