Bill Kilgallon to retire from Social Care Institute for Excellence

Bill Kilgallon is to step down as chief executive of the Social Care Institute for Excellence next March.

The 60-year-old has led the organisation since January 2003, and will now retire to, among other things, work as a foster carer in Leeds.

Scie chair Allan Bowman said: “Social care needs more leaders like Bill, and we hope that he will continue to contribute to the sector. He will be missed at SCIE and we will be seeking a successor with similar values, vision and qualities.”

The post will be advertised in the new year.
