Key role for Dixon in new directors’ body

West Sussex director of social and caring services John Dixon will become the first vice-president of the new Association of Directors of Adult Social Services.

Dixon, currently co-chair of the Association of Directors of Social Services disabilities committee, will take up the post next April.

The new association will be set up next year out of the ADSS, when its children’s function is merged with the Confederation of Children’s Services to create an Association of Directors of Children’s Services.

The current ADSS vice-president Anne Williams will become the first president of the adult body and will be succeeded by Dixon in 2008.
