Lord Warner announces retirement

Health minister Lord Warner has announced he will retire next year to spend more time with his family. Warner ,66, has had extensive experience in health and social care.  

His career has included a spell as director of social services at Kent county council and a time as a senior policy adviser to the home secretary.

He has also chaired the national inquiry into selection, development and management of staff in children’s homes in 1992.
