Plans to improve education of children in care in Scotland to be launched

The Scottish executive will unveil plans tomorrow to improve the education of children in care.

Recently-appointed education minister Hugh Henry will launch the findings of a ministerial working group set up to examine issues affecting looked-after children’s education.

Last year, half of all looked-after children left education with at least one qualification, up from 46 per cent in 2005, but ministers vowed much more needed to be done.
