STAR RATING: 4/5

This is a fun and useful tool that can be used with people who have learning disabilities to build a life plan that is personal to them, writes Matt Dore.

Covering all aspects of a person’s life from work, health and housing, to important people, hobbies and leisure, this CD will give individuals an interesting way of presenting, recording and planning their lives.

There are the usual PC problems and system requirements that need to be overcome but the Information Plus help desk was helpful and easy to get hold of.

You can use My Life Plan to build a complete plan with someone, or concentrate on specific areas that need to be discussed and planned. Most people with learning disabilities will need support to help them through the process. There is a help resource that can be printed for easy reference.

Under each section there are worksheets people can use to choose what to put in their plan, but there is not much room to change the format or to take out unwanted material.

I can see this tool being invaluable to people as they begin to take control over their plans and lives.
