Ivan Lewis criticised for use of management consultancy jargon

Care services minister Ivan Lewis will not be best pleased about his prominent position in a Matthew Parris broadcast for BBC Radio 4 about political language, management consultancy speak and cliches.

Lewis’ Parliamentary speech from June this year on carers bore the brunt of Parris’ attack in the second part of the programme “Not in my words, Mr Speaker…”

“Bottom-up strategies”, “joined-up services” and “wake-up calls” are among the Lewis phrases which Parris rather unkindly knitted together on the programme.

You can listen for yourself by selecting Not My Words, Mr Speaker part two on this page of the BBC website.
