Social worker banned after child pornography conviction

A South Wales social worker has been removed from the social care register after being convicted of child pornography charges.

Paul Anthony Neill, a former social worker at Merthyr Tydfil Council, had his registration terminated this week after a Care Coucil for Wales disciplinary committee decided he was guilty of misconduct.

In May 2007, Neill was convicted of 17 counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children. The committee decided the convictions amounted to misconduct.
