On the Move

David Sissling, who recently quit as the chief executive of the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care Authority after 18 months in the job, is to become the programme director for Healthcare for London. The organisation is responsible for improving health services in the capital.

Care Co-ordination Network UK, a networking organisation for disabled children and their families, has elected John Ford as its new chair. He retired as director of the Early Support Programme at the Department for Children, Families and Schools earlier this year, having spent most of his career in the department and its predecessors.

The director of social services at Islington Council, Gwen Ovshinsky, will be retiring from her post next year. The council rejected calls from Unison for her resignation in October over her role in two care contracts, which proved unaffordable for the authority.

The Empty Homes Agency has appointed board member Nick Aldridge as their new chair. He replaces Andrew Purkis, who is leaving the organisation. Aldridge is also chief executive of Missionfish, which uses eBay to raise money for charities.
