www.youngminds.org.uk

Star rating: 4/5.

Thanks to a redesign, Young Minds – a national charity for improving children’s mental health – has an attractive, easily accessible website offering detailed information in a clear and concise form, writes Lisa Watkinson.

There’s a separate index for young people and one for parents and professionals covering issues such as abuse, anxiety and obsessions, crime and youth justice, and good practice. Information is given in a sensitive and understanding way without the professional jargon.

The Young Offenders Mental Health Network, which gives information and support, is useful and relevant for those working in the field. Leaflets and booklets can also be downloaded free. All in all, an excellent site to which you will want to return.

Lisa Watkinson is a family centre worker.
