Jersey abuse investigation: Man released without charge

A 50-year-old man arrested in connection with the Jersey child abuse investigation has been released without charge.

The man was released last Friday morning pending further inquiries into a number of serious crimes, police confirmed.

“We cannot give any further details at this stage as there are no charges,” a Jersey police spokeswoman said.

Three people have been charged so far in the investigation, which is examining claims of abuse at the Haut de la Garenne children’s home and other institutions dating back to the 1950s.
