Mencap appoints Mark Goldring as new chief executive

Mencap  has appointed Mark Goldring as its new chief executive.

He succeeds Dame Jo Williams, who announced her retirement from the learning disabilities charity earlier this year.

Mark was previously chief executive of VSO for nine years, and has held positions at Oxfam, the Department for International Development and the UN Development Programme. He has also been chair of Revolving Doors Agency and is a volunteer for disability charity Sense.

Mark will begin working for Mencap in November.
