Soft Market Test: Short Breaks

The Children & Young People’s Services Directorate of Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council is looking to establish a preferred provider list through a clear service specification and framework agreement in line with Every Child Matters and Aiming High for Disabled Children.

Overview: The aim of the service will be to support disabled children and their families by providing enjoyable experiences away from primary carers, thereby contributing to personal development, reduce social isolation and give parents and their families a necessary break away from their caring responsibilities.

In order to deliver this requirement in the most cost effective and innovative way possible and to deliver the maximum service benefits possible, the Authority is seeking information from suitably experienced providers as to the variety of approaches available in the current market.

At present this exercise is a market sourcing exercise only and as such information relating to possible options available to the Authority, in the form of a basic Options Appraisal (2 sides of A4) are therefore sought from providers who feel they can demonstrate a proven track record of service delivery to public sector or health organisations and who can offer an innovative and outcomes based approach.

Once analysed this information will then be used to develop suitable Outcomes based documentation for this requirement for which Expressions of Interest will be sought in the relevant press in the near future.

Possible Options appraisals should be sent to Anne Blackledge,Contracts Manager, Calderdale MBC Commissioning & Partnerships, Northgate, Halifax, HX1 1UN. Email anne.blackledge@calderdale.gov.uk no later than close of business on Friday 19th December 2008.

We are planning to hold a vision event on 15th January 2009, if you are interested in attending please contact Anne Blackledge on 01422 392796 or via e-mail.
