The Provision of Care at Home Services in Dumfries and the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright

Dumfries & Galloway Council wishes to invite applications to be part of a framework agreement for the provision of non-specialist Care at Home Services for adults. Services for older people make up the largest proportion of non-specialist care at home services, however, this framework will also include the provision of non-specialist care at home services for adults with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and mental health needs.

Expressions of interest are invited from organisations that are established, registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and have substantial experience in the provision of home care. Organisations with experience of delivering services in rural areas are particularly encouraged to apply.

Care at home services include personal care, practical support and accessing community activities for older people and other adult service user groups and assisting with medication in accordance with Dumfries and Galloway’s medication guidelines. The organisation must be committed to promoting equality and diversity, the inclusion of older and disabled people in their communities and be committed to increasing the personalisation of social care services.

Invitations to tender will be issued to shortlisted applicants with a view to establishing a framework agreement for new care packages in Dumfries and the Stewartry with the target commencement date of 1 April 2010.

Organisations wishing to be considered as a potential provider should register their interest no later than 5pm on Thursday 23 July 2009 to Angela.Bell@dumgal.gov.uk

Tel 01387 731134.

Closing date for return of Pre-qualification questionnaires: 31 July 2009 at 2pm.
