Invitation to tender for the provision of training and education to empower unpaid carers of people with dementia

Improved knowledge and awareness of dementia amongst unpaid carers will reduce depression, provide unpaid carers with access to essential information, increase understanding of dementia as the disease progresses, access care when required and help prevent unpaid carers reaching crisis point that may result in admission to hospital for a person with dementia. Enabling and empowering unpaid carers through education will also reduce the likelihood of people with dementia prematurely entering long term residential care. The Joint Improvement Partnership, East of England is inviting bids to provide a number of training and education courses on dementia to 300 unpaid carers of people with dementia across the eastern region.
