Southwark Cathedral’s herb garden

We finish our walk at Southwark Cathedral for a tour of its herb garden. Here we find out about how aromatic plants, such as lavender, have been used for centuries to relieve ailments, such as stress and insomnia.

Kathrin Kirrmann, a regular on the Largactyl Shuffle, explains what attracts her about the walks: “I started coming a year ago and each walk is different. I like walking and I like meeting people, so this is ideal.”

The Largactyl Shuffle is certainly one of the most innovative tours of the capital, and it features the ingredients for good mental health: companionship, mental stimulation and exercise. Perhaps it ought to be available on prescription.
