The government has launched a campaign to try and break the stigma of dementia.
Featuring real dementia sufferers the slogan of the TV and poster campaign is, “I have dementia, I also have a life,” promoting a view of dementia patients as active individuals.
To launch the campaign care services minister Phil Hope joined a dance group of dementia sufferers at London night club Pacha and got involved in the action himself.
A recent poll by MORI for the Department of Health found one in three people were uncomfortable with dementia suffers and would avoid interacting with them.
