How UNISON supports social care professionals with career development

Learning and development is at the heart of all UNISON's work. The union helps members develop skills to become more active and involved in union issues. UNISON's lifelong learning opportunities also help social care professionals improve their skills and confidence at work, study for a qualification to progress their career, or learn just for personal pleasure and interest.

UNISON provides social care professionals with various opportunities for learning and development. These include:

1) Learning opportunities for union representatives and for members looking to get more involved in the union (see below).

2) Negotiating learning partnerships with social care employers to help staff progress in their careers.

3) Discounts with a wide variety of reputable learning providers so that UNISON members can save money on course fees.

UNISON offers a range of trade union education and lifelong learning opportunities for members.

UNISON’s training and development online service has been designed to guide UNISON members or reps through a range of available development opportunities available. Help in planning your development is available from your branch or union learning representative.
