Regulator recruits social workers for CPD audits later this year

England's social work regulator has begun recruiting assessors to check CPD profiles

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) has begun recruiting assessors who will perform the first-ever audit of the continuing professional development (CPD) of England’s social workers.

The regulator is building a team of social workers who will vet the CPD of social workers when they renew their registration this autumn.

The HCPC will randomly select 2.5% of social workers to provide a CPD profile that will then be checked by the assessors it is currently recruiting.

The HCPC’s job advert says the assessor roles are only open to registered social workers in England who are currently practicing.

The assessors will be paid £20 per assessment.

The registration renewal process for England’s social workers starts 1 September.
