Do you know a serving or former seafarer in need of support?

A feature sponsored by Seafarer Support

Social workers may often come across ex UK seafarers and their families without actually knowing that they have served in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Merchant Navy or fishing fleets. Social workers may also be unaware that there are nearly 150 different types of maritime charities that may be in a position to help their clients in times of need.

The UK maritime charity sector understands that we all need a little help in navigating a course through life’s problems. The Seafarer Support staff at  seafarersupport.org, with an award-winning search engine, are standing by to help you find sources of help. So, if you are dealing with a case that involves a serving or former member of the Merchant Navy, Royal Navy, Royal Marines or fishing fleets or their family then please get in touch with our friendly team today.

Very useful information and contact to have, and very helpful staff on the helpline. I’ll definitely bear the Maritime Charities welfare Guide in mind and share the information when I’m back at work. I will also forward the information to a former seafarer I know in need of support.
