In the spotlight

Can you win the trust of the most disaffected young people in society?

At a glance
Clayfields House is a local authority secure children’s home, run by Nottinghamshire County Council. This modern facility is a national resource with a reputation for highly effective interventions, innovative programmes, outstanding educational provision, and a comprehensive health service that can accommodate up to 18 youngsters aged 10 to 18 years old.

Let us introduce you to Clayfields House.

It’s one of just 15 local authority secure children’s homes in England, housing both young offenders and teenagers placed with us on welfare grounds due to high levels of risk to themselves or others.

Ofsted has rated us outstanding for two years’ running and our specialist education provision exceeds national standards and expectations in terms of outcomes.

As a social worker said of one of our young men: “[He] has made massive progress during his time there. His education, social skills, self-care skills and confidence have all grown immensely…and he has developed a range of new skills which the home has introduced.”

We are currently looking for practitioners who – like us – believe that change is always possible and that even the most distressed, disenfranchised and difficult-to-engage young person can go on to a successful adulthood.

Well-resourced and expanding

As our registered manager or as one of the four assistant unit leaders we are recruiting, you will be joining an expanding, well-resourced secure children’s home with a warm, homely atmosphere.

A secure home where we listen to what young people have to say and, when needed, we advocate strongly on their behalf.

The roles in brief
