MURIEL KELLY has joined the team of fieldworkers at Scope, the disability charity. She will work in Teesside, providing information, advice and support for disabled people.

MICHAEL BOYALL is newly appointed as one of seven trustees for the Independent Living Funds. He is an accountant who works at the Financial Ombudsman Service, making decisions on disputes between the public and the financial services industry.

MICHAEL CLARK is to take up the post of head of commercial services at Clouds, the Wiltshire charity working with people affected by alcohol and drug misuse.

The new director of children's services (south west), at NCH, the children's charity is STEPHEN ROE, formerly an inspector for the Social Services Inspectorate.

JOHN MARSDEN will join North Yorkshire Council as chief executive after the council elections in May. Currently chief executive of North Tyneside Council, Marsden was previously director of social services in Sunderland for 10 years.
