A foster carer who has been looking after a trafficked child last week lost her challenge to a ruling denying her guardianship of the boy.
The carer, Mrs F, went to the appeal court after the High Court rejected her application to become the permanent guardian of the boy, C.
In the High Court in July, Mr Justice Ryder said the boy would be better off being adopted by parents approved by Haringey Council.
And Lord Justice Wall last week said he could not interfere with the adoption process.
C was brought to the UK from Africa. His "parents" claimed he was a gift from God. But DNA tests showed they were not his birth parents and a High Court judge ruled in November 2004 that he had been a victim of child trafficking.
