The 11 major umbrella bodies for adult care providers in England have combined to give providers a stronger voice in the development of personalisation.
The Care Providers Alliance represents providers across residential, nursing, domiciliary care and adult placements, the private and voluntary sectors, services for older and disabled people and those with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
Des Kelly, executive director of voluntary sector care umbrella body the National Care Forum, has been appointed chair. He said: “It is essential that care providers are regarded as equal partners alongside commissioners and people receiving services.”
The alliance’s key purposes are to offer leadership to the sector, develop an effective way to engage with policymakers, commissioners and regulators and to improve information-sharing between member bodies.
