Ray Jones has resigned from his role as chair of the British Association of Social Workers.

Wednesday 20 December 2006 00:00

Ray Jones has resigned from his role as chair of the British Association of Social Workers.

The former director of adult and community services at Wiltshire Council cites a clash between himself and BASW's chief executive Ian Johnston for the reason behind his resignation.

A statement from BASW said that it was recognised by all that the relationship between chief executive and chair should "function without difficulty".

Jennifer Orgill will be the new chair.
